I’ve spent the past few hours really thinking about the events of the last 24 hours, trying to process what Chuck Schumer just did, and the more I reflect on it, the angrier I get. Schumer’s decision to vote for the continuing resolution is a complete and utter betrayal of leadership at a time when we desperately need strength, strategy, and conviction. This wasn’t just some procedural move—it was a signal that he is more interested in keeping the status quo afloat than actually fighting for the people who put him in power. It’s disgraceful. It’s weak. And quite frankly, it’s embarrassing. Mitch McConnell, for all his faults, would never have made such a pathetic miscalculation.
He knows how to wield power, how to stand firm, how to dictate the terms of engagement. Meanwhile, Schumer folds at the first sign of difficulty, proving once again that he lacks the backbone to be the leader the moment demands. Democrats are rudderless right now, adrift without anyone strong enough to take charge and fight for real, tangible victories. Schumer has shown—yet again—that he is not that person. He needs to step down immediately because right now, he’s doing nothing but holding the party back.
I’m ready to stand up and help lead our party. We have a void. Time to fill it. Join me:
