Democracy did survive on January 6 thanks to you and your service, as well as the service of the other officers and those in power who did the right thing. I hope you are right that Democracy will survive. I can't imagine the horror you experienced on January 6 coming face-to-face with the racism and the challenges to Democracy.

As a veteran who spent two years in Vietnam, my skeptism of American's who didn't participate in that war, and didn't see the differance between those who went and those who ran the war in Congress in far off safe places. Those who found we were to blame, rather than the real people responsible with blood on their hands! All this patriotic blather, feels about the same as being thanked for my service a lifetime to late! Harry knows that feeling, but those who saw what happened at that time, still managed to bring back Trump four years later! They let him continue doing the same things over and over and expected different results? That is the definition of insanity! Until we all can get together and work for democracy, how is this going to change? We don't need any more foreign wars! We need to apply our energy right here and right now to straighten out this mess that has gone on for the last fifty years! It has brought us to Trump and his Humpty Dumpty antics to try and rule us! Enough is enough!
