Donald Trump Just Said He Would Pardon The People Who Tried To Kill Me
I was an officer on January 6, 2021. I stood firm and defended our Capitol Building. Now, Donald Trump wants to pardon those who tried to kill me.
This morning, Donald Trump announced on Meet the Press that he would be taking swift action to pardon the January 6th defendants who tried to tear down our democracy, destroy our Capitol Building, and kill me and my fellow officers.
I was there that day. I remember watching as the January 6th defendants formed a violent mob and later stormed the Capitol Building, overrunning me and my fellow police officers. There was nothing we could do to stop that violent mob, and yet, Donald Trump now wants to pardon them as if nothing ever happened.
The people who attacked our Capitol Building were not peaceful. They were not doing the right thing. They were incited by a President who wanted to hold onto power at all costs and were thirsty for revenge against me, my fellow officers, and the members of Congress in the Capitol Building.
Well here’s the thing. Donald Trump may think I may stand down or just go away.
I won’t. I did not stand down on January 6th. I will not stand down now. I am going to stand my ground, and I hope you will join me in this fight.
I am going to be using this platform to share my thoughts about the future, along with what I am doing to preserve, protect, and defend our democracy. Please consider becoming a paid subscriber today to support my work.
Let’s do this, together.
