Democrats, Let’s Get To Work

Dear fellow Democrats,

Now is the time to get to work. As a Capitol Police Officer who stood my ground on January 6, 2021, I know what it takes to defeat MAGA and Donald Trump. That day, four years ago, we stood our ground and certified a free and fair election despite the fact that Trump and his cronies tried to kill me and my fellow officers. Now, just four years later, those who tried to kill me are back on the streets, Donald Trump is in office, and Elon Musk and Trump are actively dismantling the federal government.

I know many of you may feel scared. Trust me, I do too. But, I want you to know that I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work to stand my ground against the Trump Administration once again. And, I am not waiting any longer.

I made it clear this week on Jen Psaki’s show:

This week, I was in Wisconsin because in just a couple of months there is a critical Wisconsin Supreme Court race that could decide the future of the Court, and with it, the future of the rights of millions of Wisconsinites. The Republican candidate in the race, Brad Schimel, has stood with Donald Trump’s decision to pardon the 1,500 insurrectionists, and has refused to denounce it.

As someone running to be a Supreme Court Justice in Wisconsin, if he believed in law and order, he would have denounced Trump’s decision. It is more evident than ever that you cannot claim to support an individual who believes it is okay to pardon people who attack police officers like myself and also claim to back the blue. If you believe that the individuals who attacked police officers should serve their sentence, then the only response to Donald Trump’s pardons should be that they’re wrong.

That’s why, I was in Wisconsin to rally residents around the Democratic-endorsed candidate, Judge Susan Crawford. I encourage you all to do your research on Judge Crawford and her positions, and spread the word about this critical election, one of the first major tests for this new Trump Administration. We can defeat Brad Schimel and send a message to Americans that Wisconsin denounces Donald Trump.

With the new DNC election comes a fresh face in leadership. I look forward to working with Chairman Ken Martin, Vice Chair David Hogg, Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta, and all the other elected officials to rebuild the Democratic Party, and look forward to proposing a law enforcement caucus within our party.
